Alexandra (Sasha) Fendrick will take over WorldMontana’s Executive Director position beginning in October 2016. Our former ED, Ellen Bush, has decided to step down to pursue more adventures. Ellen has been a crucial partner to WorldMontana since 2013 when she was a host, then became the ED October of 2014. Sasha became part of WorldMontana as a volunteer board member three years ago, then stepped down last January to become a program coordinator in the WorldMontana offices. Sasha and Ellen have worked side-by-side over the past two years, welcoming over 16 international groups just in 2016 alone. The board of directors selected Sasha for the position last month and are very confident she will be a great fit because of all her years of involvement and working together with Ellen for a few years. Sasha comes from Novosibibirsk, Western Siberia in the Russian Federation and brings warmth and familiarity to the international visitors who experience culture shock during their visit to America. We look forward to all the plans and ideas that Sasha has to bring to the table for WorldMontana and Ellen will be missed.
A group of seven Russians are visiting Montana this week to study environmental issues that are similar in their Russian regions. They are making stops in Helena, Butte, and Glacier to learn about problems such as mass wasting and maintaining a greener lifestyle.
