Become a Citizen Diplomat, One Handshake at a Time
You too can be a WorldMontana citizen diplomat by opening your home for dinners and homestays, driving international guests, helping arrange professional and cultural programs for the visitors, serving as a professional resource, helping organize our annual international film fundraiser, and/or as an office volunteer.
Through the relationships you develop with international visitors, you will strengthen your international ties, establish and develop your citizens’ knowledge of the world, and your ability to communicate across cultures and develop potential foreign trade contacts.
The ways you can help:
- Driver: escorting international delegates around Montana
- Home Hospitality: hosting international delegates for a meal, which does not need to be elaborate. Sharing a meal is a simple way to connect with people from around the world while enjoying a bite to eat. Enjoy this engaging opportunity to meet fascinating people!
- Home Stay: providing overnight home stays for international delegates. Or volunteering to be in charge of a visitor, from meeting them at the airport to helping implement their itinerary.
- International Film Fundraiser: This WorldMontana annual fundraising event features a film selected for its ability to describe the human spirit in challenging times – across different cultures, different dilemmas; but sharing the same human emotions and responses. Local experts help to facilitate a discussion after the showing.
