Nikki Andersen is the retired Executive Director of ExplorationWorks Science Center in Helena, MT. and holds a BA in European History and MA in Cultural Anthropology. International work experiences include a one-year USIA cultural exchange program as an employee at Sweden’s Nordiska Museet, multi-year consulting for the Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam, a major project for Vienna’s Schloss Schrunbrun, and training the executive director of Dubai’s first children’s museum.

Additionally, Nikki has presented at international conferences in Oaxaca and Mexico City, Quebec, Stockholm, Helsinki, and Dubai. taken occasional art workshops in Oaxaca, and consulted on joint projects with The Canadian Museum of Civilization, The Royal Ontario and The Royal British Columbia Museums.

Extensive volunteer board work for local, regional and national non-profits include the Association of Midwest Museums and the American Alliance of Museums, Visitor Studies Association, Association of Children’s Museums, Montana Shares, Big Sky Institute, and Girls Inc. She also reviewed grants for the Institute for Museum and Library Services, and National Endowment for the Humanities and continues accrediting museums across the United States.
